Wellbeing Services
What is the Wellbeing Service?
The Wellbeing Services Team are here to help you with non-medical needs; things that are having an impact on your life and affecting your wellbeing.
The Team focus on two areas which are Social Prescribing and Health and Wellbeing Coaching
Social Prescribing can help with things like:
Housing
Food Bank and Energy Voucher
Applying for benefits
Budgeting and debt management
Employment, education and volunteering
Finding social activities and groups
Other practical issues that might be affecting your life
Your Social Prescriber will give you time and space to talk about what is troubling you and help you to work out what your next steps are.
Together you will create a Plan, and your Social Prescriber will put you in contact with the right services and people to help you.
Your sessions can be over the phone, or video call, or in person.
You may only need 1 or 2 appointments, but you can have up to 6 appointments for the same issue. If something else comes up in the future, you can always contact us again for help.
Health and Wellbeing Coaching can help with things like:
Mild to moderate anxiety
Stress
Low mood
Low self-esteem and building confidence
Grief and coming to terms with changes in your life
General wellbeing
You can have access to 6 sessions, and your Coach will work with you to help you to move forward, create achievable goals and manage your own wellbeing.
Your Coach will give you plenty of space to be heard and understood, and you will create your Wellbeing Plan together to suit you.
During each session you may be given resources or exercises to try in your own time, so that you can get to know yourself better and focus on what is important to you.
Wellbeing Coaching is not counselling or therapy, it works very differently and is forward focused. If you feel you need more support, we can help you to find a more suitable service.
Appointments are normally every two weeks, and can be over the phone, or video call, or in person.
A 6-week Wellbeing Group is also available, offering peer support and education. We aim to help you to make long term change and to see an improvement in your wellbeing and quality of life.
Wellbeing Coaching is not a crisis service and cannot help with complex mental health needs.
